Now this is spring time: A poem by Somoy Shafi about peace
Now this is spring time
Now this is spring time
But there is no spring on the mouth of this human nation
The civilization suffers from war fevers
Now we need to make an alliance with the calm rivers
Whatever we have to do-
We’ve to do it soon
Before it is noon
Otherwise, we will lose all mother fortune
It is the day to prosper
Not the time to see the carnage of grasshoppers
Because of your bigotry, we’ve lost a lot of sentries
Because of you, our sky had to pay a harsh compensation
But what we actually got in lieu of this reparation?
Maybe a handful of mountains on top of destruction
Maybe a colorful flag that flails on top of our rails
Are they equivalent compared to our loss and demolishment?
It is the day to flourish
Not the spell to be diminished
We can hardly take a few more deaths
Not more than that
Whatever we have to do-
We’ve to do it soon
Before it is noon
