Give me a handful sun: A poem by Somoy Shafi about love & peace

by | Dec 4, 2023 | Poetry for Peace

Give me a handful sun

Give me a handful sun

May this land flood with wealth and abundance

May this land flood with warmth and peace guard

I won’t want seek anything for my own blessing

O holy giver!

Only give me a drop of rain over my calm river

May ecstasy land at the bosom of all mountains

May harmony erupt all around this terrains

I won’t solicit anything for my wellbeing

Only give me a handful sun for my barn

All gamblers earned some types of fortunes

All drunkards got drunk with the sense of bunk

May all these morons party their lives with bottles of wine

I won’t seek anything from their addiction and drinks

Only give me a profound night

where I can cheer with my moonlight

All vampires have found their empires

All streams have met their creeks

May this land turn into a prosperous grain

I won’t seek anything for my own den

Only allow me to sit alone by the bay ridge

I will take some calm breeze
