Death is here an inch away: A sad poem about Gaza
Death is here an inch away
Death is here an inch away
Don’t tell us stories about other maps and countries
Here to exist with some breaths is a big deal
How can we wonder about the galaxies and all other stars?
They live far away from our thought chambers
We may daydream about the highest heavens
We may fantasize about the success of other guys
But for us those are far away and remote objects
Not too close like the death-
Which is just an inch away from our beds
Our bones, our skeletons-
Our nerves and spines-
All are compliant and death friendly
We have muscles inside our bodies
But those muscles are made
with the tissues of war and battles
Seeing havocs again and again-
cruelty has grown inside our veins
Death is here an inch away
Our day starts with shattered dreams and broken hearts
We solicit to the sky for a piece of bread
But instead, we receive bombs over our head
Sometimes our hunger send us straight to death bunker
Sometimes we ourselves are responsible
for being miserable
But this is not always the case and plausible
Most misery happens here without our control
Very often, we turn into rubbles
Death is here an inch away
